My name is Ray Cox and have lived in and around Colchester for most of my life.  I am married and have two grown up children and four grandchildren. 

I am a Chartered Public Finance Accountant  and had 38 years service in local government  including Deputy Borough Treasurer of Colchester Borough Council and Director of Finance at Tendring District Council.  Following early retirement I completed 18 years as Non-Executive Director of the North Essex University NHS Foundation Trust, 15 of these years as Deputy Chairman and Chairman of the Audit Committee.

My main pastime interests are in music and opera.  I am a friend of the Royal Opera House and a keen listener of classical and jazz music.  In addition I play golf and walk regularly.

I look forward to working with the Chair and Directors of the Foundation and helping it to succeed in meeting its future challenges and ambitions.
